We have sinned, we have committed iniquity, we have been wicked and rebellious, we have turned away from your commandments and your ordinances.

All Israel has transgressed your law, and turned away from listening to your voice. Then the curses and imprecations that are written in the law of Moses, God’s servant, were poured out on us, because we sinned against God.

Whenever they light a fire for war, God puts it out. And they strive to sow disorder on earth.

And among the Jews, there are listeners of lies, listeners of other people who have not come to you and who distort the words of their positions.

Behold, they plot with a plot. And I plot with a plot.

Those people say: There is only one death for us, the first. And we will not be resurrected.

Their marks are on their faces, from their submission.

Satan has overpowered them and made them forget the remembrance of God. Those are the party of Satan, and indeed, the party of Satan are the losers.

Those who take disbelievers as allies instead of believers—do they seek dignity with them? Indeed, all dignity belongs entirely to God.

Your wives are a land for you.

Is it this being? Raised amidst adornments and who is not clear in dispute?

And if We delayed the punishment for them until a counted community, they would say, “But what is holding him back?

I told him that I would punish his house forever.

I have answered those who did not ask, I have been found by those who did not seek me; I have said, ‘Here I am, here I am!’ to a nation that did not call on my name.

He said, ‘I will hide my face from them, that I may see their end; for they are a perverse generation, faithless children.

They have provoked me to anger with that which is not God; they have provoked me to anger with their worthless idols; therefore I will provoke them to anger with that which is not a people, I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation.

He said: “I afflict with My punishment whom I will, but My mercy embraces all things. I will prescribe it for those who are pious, and who attain purity, and believe in Our signs.

Those who follow the Messenger, the pagan Prophet whom they find written with them in the Torah and the Gospel.

You will perish like the nations the Lord is destroying before you, because you have not obeyed the voice of the Lord your God.

Then you remained for years among the family of Midian, then you came according to a just measure, O Moses.

My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

Even on your garment is found the blood of poor innocents, whom you did not catch breaking in.

Despite all this, you say, “I am innocent; surely his anger has turned away from me!” Behold, I will enter into a dispute with you, because you say, “I have not sinned.”

It is He who has called you the resigned.

O you who believe! Whoever among you turns away from his religion, then God will bring a people whom He cherishes and who cherish Him, showing humility towards the believers and dignity towards the non-believers,

I would like to say: I will sweep them away with a breath, I will blot out their memory from among men!

But I fear the insults of the enemy, I fear that their adversaries may misunderstand, and say: Our hand is mighty, It is not the Lord who has done all this.
